Description

Increased disk specific for Braumeister normal BM20 or Plus

Version with filtering disc with small holes 0.9x0.9mm

Main disk thickness 3mm.

The product is composed of

A-main disc diameter 297 mm thickness 3 mm

B-Filter disk

C-Thickness for central pressure

The hook and the silicone ring are no longer useful to use the original upper filter disk rotated 180 °

For its block to the malt pipe the original Braumeister pipe is not used but directly the thickness supplied (C). In this way the yield increase disk is pressed in the center improving the pressure applied to the malt pipe which is thus applied to the whole circumference in a homogeneous way.

Surface finish of the main mirror disk by electrolyte immersion electropolishing. Passivated for immersion for more than 3 hours

All the products are internally tested by BacBrewing but we also like to give them to our customers to test them and see if they actually work, what can be improved etc. So for this product we entrust a customer who has been using Braumeister products for years

The following table is the result of a test made on a Braumeister BM50

Pre-boil results:

TEST LT ACQUA MASH KG GRANI LT ACQUA SPARGE PRE- BOIL VOL PRE-BOIL GRAVITY EFFICIENZA PRE-BOIL
BM 50 LT + DISCO FILTRANTE BACBREWING (cotta American IPA) 62 16 13 60 1061 76%

As you can see from the chart 16kg of malt have been used (BM50), so the 23% more than the standard malt-pipe capacity (13kg). The same percentage can be obtained  with the BM20 from 6 to 7,4kg The percentage of increase yield is 23% also with regard to the version BM10

Increase disk

Not used yet but very well made and very quick shipping to Australia.
I am only puzzled by the fact that i wanted the large 1.5 diam filter holes but this was not available with the disk when i ordered. i did however order it seperately and it shipped together, go figure!
I have now got a 0.9 and 1.5 filter disk when i really wanted two 1.5’s.
Apart from that, im happy.

BM20/BM20plus increase disk and fine mesh.

Definitely increases BMs capacity for grist by removing need for BMs moving supplied top plate and mesh which, although snug, does let grain escape up and over the side. The Bad Brewing plate sits firmly in contact all the way around the top of the malt tube to almost eliminate grist material from escaping over the top of the malt tube. Very solid and beautifully presented. Only downside is eye watering freight cost to Australia. Still recommended.

Great for Decoction Mash Steps

I did not order this part for range extensions, but rather to make it easier to perform decoctions during mashing of German lagers in the Braumeister manual mode. In contrast to the original clamp and top filter it is rather easy to remove during the mash.
