-- Use as spunding during beer maturation --
With the new spunding valve, you can monitor the pressure of kegs with a jolly keg connection and prevent overpressure thanks to the automatic discharge regulator. If the pressure rises above the setting, the regulator automatically discharges the excess CO2, thus preventing over-carbursting or exploding of the keg.
-- Use as an isobaric filling machine --
The valve allows pre-saturation of the keg, thanks to the discharge spout it is possible to use the valve as a pressure maintainer during isobaric packaging.
Being made of stainless steel and FDA silicone it is suitable for both gases and liquids. As it can be totally disassembled, its cleaning and sanitising is safe and simple. Only the pressure gauge is made of brass, so it is recommended not to immerse it in sanitising solutions. If you wish, it can still be disassembled. When reassembling it, place 5/7 turns of Teflon tightly around the thread.
The regulator is operated by the pressure force exerted by the internal stainless steel spring (4) on a special plug (5) designed by BacBrewing and made of FDA silicone.
Complete with female jolly gas connection, 2.5 bar pressure gauge, automatic unloader and 0.5mt silicone FDA hose 5x8
Red FDA silicone O-ring (9) for pressure regulator seal (7)
Supplied as pictured, pre-assembled and ready to use
Presetting
After sanitising all parts reassemble the valve following the diagram
From the moment that the jolly gas connection (3) comes into contact with the gasket (2) exert a maximum of one turn, otherwise the gasket will be crushed, closing the central passage hole.
Even if not completely tightened, the seal is still guaranteed.

Once assembled, connect the valve to the jolly gas quick coupling on the keg.
With regulator o-ring (9) in place screw the pressure regulator (7) clockwise for approx. 10-15 turns without locking it with the throttle (8).
Fill the keg with water or CO2 via the beer jolly connect, the pressure rises.
If you wish to set the valve to a pressure of example 1 bar, load the keg to a higher pressure, approx. 1.5 bar.
Once you have reached a pressure of 1.5 bar close the inlet and turn the pressure regulator (7) anti-clockwise until the needle of the pressure gauge starts to drop, turn it again anti-clockwise but slowly to reach the desired pressure. To make it easier to set the pressure, we recommend that you attach the silicone tube to the pressure regulator and dip the end of the tube into a sanitising solution to see when it stops bubbling.
It is advisable to recharge with water or CO2 several times to check the correct pressure at which bubbles stop coming out. If necessary, make the appropriate adjustments. Once the correct pressure has been verified, block the pressure regulator by means of the blocking butterfly (8).
Repeat a few checks for correct setting, make adjustments if necessary.
The spunding/isobar valve is now set for 1 bar operation.
